My friend Jennifer made this casserole one Sunday for Sunday School, and I immediately asked her for the recipe. It is so amazing and you will want to go back for seconds and thirds. Plus, it is so easy and only uses three ingredients!! This is perfect for a brunch because you can assemble it ahead of time and it's hearty and delicious. I also used turkey sausage, fat free cream cheese and reduced fat crescents to make this a little healthier, and it still tastes amazing-but you can certainly use the full fat ingredients.
Sausage Crescent Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients:
1 8 0z. container fat free cream cheese
1 lb. turkey sausage
2 cans reduced fat crescent rolls
Directions:
Brown sausage in skillet. Add cream cheese to sausage and mix until combined. Line a 9 x 13 pyrex dish with one package crescent rolls. Top with sausage & cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining can of crescent rolls. Bake according to the directions on the crescent roll can.
What doesn't taste good sandwiched between two layers of buttery flaky croissant dough?! What a great idea and quick dish to make. I love that its only 3 ingredients too!
ReplyDeleteThose look so good! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI love these! I make them as individual bites - cut the crescent roll in half to make two traingles and use a small scoop to put the sausage on the roll. Makes them easy to eat - not sure if that is a good thing or not!
