Last week, I had the privilege of meeting up with some of my friends that I used to work with in Nashville. We went to lunch at my favorite lunch spot downtown, City Wraps. I just love that place. When I worked in Nashville I would eat there like 2-3 times a week and I always got the same thing. I ate there so often that when I came in, the workers would automatically say, 'Buffalo Wrap, no blue cheese.' I apparently ate there so often that even after not having gone there for at least a year and a half, the owner remembered me and where I had moved to, etc. Haha. That's when you know you have a problem. Apparently I have a slight addiction to the buffalo wraps.
Well, Adam didn't get to go to lunch with us, so I thought I would try and recreate the wrap for him last night for dinner. I used the same tomato basil tortillas they use at city wraps, and it turned out really really close to the original. These may not look pretty, but they are so tasty. Great for an easy dinner or a weekend lunch.
Oh, and normally I wouldn't say use a certain brand of hot sauce/buffalo sauce, but I've been told many times by various sources that Frank's is the best, so it's what I used last night. But just use your favorite hot sauce/buffalo sauce.
Buffalo Chicken Wraps
Source: adapted from City Wraps in Nashville, TN
Ingredients:
1 large chicken breast, shredded
2 Tomato Basil tortillas
1/2 cup Frank's Red Hot Wing Sauce or other hot sauce
4 tbsp. light margarine or butter
Romaine Lettuce
Optional: ranch dressing, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese dressing
Directions:
Cook chicken and shred. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low to medium heat. Add hot sauce and stir until combined. Taste for desired "hotness"-add more hot sauce for more heat, or more butter for less heat.
To assemble the wraps:
Layer the chicken. Drizzle hot sauce over chicken and dressing/crumbles if desired. Top with lettuce and roll up and cut in half.
I love buffalo wraps, I always order them at resturants too... but I get the blue cheese!

ReplyDeleteHi! I made these for DH Tuesday and he and I both loved loved loved them. I think the tomato basil flavor of wrap really sealed the flavor. Thanks so much for posting. Will be a good go-to for me when I have leftover chicken.
