Red Velvet Whoopie Pies

I was looking for something to make for a youth retreat this past weekend and saw these red velvet whoopie pies that I had starred a while back in my google reader from Runs with Spatulas. They were a huge hit and several people said they were their favorite thing they ate all weekend. I made mine from a cake mix, but you could also make them from scratch using the cookie recipe from these red velvet black and white cookies . These are so delicious and so addictive! They are great for valentines too, or even Christmas because of the red color! Also check out Annie's Eats for great tips on how to make heart shaped red velvet whoopie pies.

  4. I'm not even sure how I found your blog, but I'm so glad I did! I made these for my school bake sale this weekend and they were a huge hit! First item to be sold out. Pretty impressive coming from the girl who usually buys store bought and bags them up for the sale.
I love this recipe and am looking forward to trying several others.
    You have a great blog.
