Classic Green Beans

I just want to say I'm sorry for my lack of posting the past several weeks. I haven't cooked or baked as near as much as I would like. I've either been out of town or under the weather! But I'm hoping to get back in the kitchen next week. Until then, I just wanted to share this basic recipe for green beans. Some might say, why would you post such a basic recipe, but green beans were a vegetable that alluded me for quite some time. I just never could figure out how to make them without being bland or tasting weird. But thanks to my mom, I finally figured it out! These green beans are full of flavor that doesn't overpower them but makes eating green veggies taste great!

Serves 2

Ingredients:
1 Can Cut Green Beans
1 Cup Chicken Broth
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tbsp. butter (optional)

Directions:
In a shallow sauce pan add green beans, broth, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat slightly to medium high heat and simmer for approximately 7-9 minutes until broth has reduced. If desired, with a couple minutes left, add butter and stir until it melts. Dish out with a slotted spoon so as not to serve with any liquid that might be remaining.

  1. Green beans are my hubby's favorite and I rarely make them since I don't like veggies. I should try these ones. :)
