For Adam's birthday, I surprised him with a quick overnight trip to Atlanta. We stayed in the Buckhead area and our hotel was right beside this little gem, The Flying Biscuit Cafe. I had heard about it on Food Network one time, so we decided to try it out. It was so cute inside! Plus they had several healthier options and it was perfect for a nice breakfast out.
Adam got the eggs, biscuit and turkey bacon. I tried some of the turkey bacon and it was fantastic! Each breakfast also came with fruit and their cranberry apple butter which was sweet & tart, a great topping for the biscuits.
I got the breakfast with their homemade chicken sausage, eggs, wheat biscuit and a wheat oatmeal pancake with peach compote, which Adam also helped me eat a little. I only was able to finish half of everything because it was so much food, but it was all so delicious! The pancakes had such a great nutty flavor and they really soaked up the syrup. The peach compote rocked my world! Such a nice sweetness and freshness without overpowering the pancake. Definitely try this if you go!

Dinner at Cheesecake Factory. We shared the Factory Nachos and then shared the Chicken Marsala...both are favorites of mine. The nachos aren't your ordinary nachos...they might look like it but everything tastes so fresh...even the sour cream tastes like they made it or something! Adam got the red velvet cheesecake for dessert and I had a couple of bites. I LOVE red velvet, but for some reason the combination with the cheesecake wasn't working for me (which was probably good for my waistline haha!)but Adam loved it.
We also visited the Georgia Aquarium which was fascinating. They have huge whale sharks, manta rays, hammerhead sharks, jelly fish and lots of tropical fish as well. Definitely worth it to visit.
We decided to keep the animal theme rolling and also went to Zoo Atlanta. The animals were super active! The lions were out and the orangatangs were jumping and climbing across ropes. It was so fun to see! They also have pandas which I had never seen in person before and a huge komodo dragon...plus the typical giraffes, elephants, zebras, etc. A great zoo, especially for kids...or for big kids like Adam & I:)

I LOVE Flying Biscuit!! My sister went to college in Atlanta and my family always made sure we went to Flying Biscuit when we visited. I've made their biscuits at home too - we bought the cookbook - and they're delicious!
